New York Times: ‘Knitting Is Coding’ and Yarn Is Programmable in This Physics Lab 

Elisabetta Matsumoto, an applied mathematician and physicist at Georgia Tech, is embarking on a five-year project to investigate the mathematics and mechanics of knitting.
